Welcome to the Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies (HRC), located in the center of the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). UNLV is a research institution committed to rigorous educational programs and the highest standards of a liberal education. The HRC as UNLV's premier research center supports this mission by providing world-class research laboratories, state-of-the art research instrumentation and excellent research support staff. The HRC strives to understand and seek solutions to environmental problems, protect cultural and natural resources, monitor emerging environmental issues to benefit the public health and safety of the people of southern Nevada, advance development in the areas of conservation biology, sustainable and clean energy, radiochemistry, as well as materials, accelerator, and nuclear research. The HRC fosters and supports collaborative and multi-disciplinary research programs.
The HRC is committed to facing today's global challenges and to address the needs of national, regional, and local communities. As a university based research unit, the HRC is dedicated to student education and excellence in research.
