Environmental Research Programs
Mission/Vision Statement
The mission of the environmental research programs (ERP) at the Harry Reid Center is to advance understanding of, and seek solutions to, complex environmental problems affecting the quality of life, protection of cultural and natural resources, and regional sustainability. Our vision is that the environmental research programs at HRC will be recognized for the distinction of its academic and research faculty, the pioneering research performed at state of the art facilities, and the excellence of the research component of education provided to students. Our definition of focal areas will extend across and beyond traditional disciplinary, departmental, and college boundaries to embrace appropriate innovation in excellence across the campus and maintain the highest quality of external collaboration to achieve our mission.
ERP conducts research in:

- Ecological information systems
- Ecological monitoring
- Environmental toxicology
- Urban ecology
ERP also provides support services in:
- Aquatic and terrestrial resource monitoring
- Environmental data collection and processing
- Environmental training
